CURRICULUM

Supporting Healthy Bodies and Healthy Minds

The Wachusett Regional School District is dedicated to the success of our students. That means we care about their mental, emotional, and physical health just as much as their academic achievement. We also know that fitness and nutrition are closely linked to improved academic performance.

To support our efforts toward healthy minds and bodies, the District was awarded a 2010 federal Carol M. White Physical Education Grant. This award, totaling approximately $1.9 million over three years, allowed the District to grow fitness opportunities before, during, and after the school day, while also expanding daily time for moderate to vigorous activity, acquiring cutting-edge equipment, and providing extensive teacher training. Additionally, grant funds have helped the District create curriculum mapping across all grade levels (K-12)!   The WRSD physical education curriculum now meets all national standards set by the National Association of Sport, PE, Recreation and Dance (NASPE), as well as the Massachusetts state frameworks.  *Please click the links (listed adjacent) to view specific grade level mapping and objectives.
